Class 6 St Lawrence

A week a go mrs Branken came in to class6, she showed use  how to take care of  money. She told us how to use cash machines and where money was made.

 

On the 6th of may Mrs kavanagh came in to teach us about GREEKS.We saw pottery and artefacts - it was like an museum. Ooh yer it was. A museum came to us instead of us going to them.

On Tuesday 6th may 2008 some ancient greek artefacts were bought to our school by mrs Kavanah. We were tought how to do greek fighting and how to have a greek party. We got to dress up as knights.

On the Tuesday the 6th  of May we had a Museum coming to our school with greek imformation and scuptures. There was some objects that we could’nt touch or breath on it so they had plastic around because it will break.There was a half a jug with barnicles on it and it propley been on a ship wrek.

This term we’ve been doing dance and because its coming up to the Olympics in Beijing we were doing the 5 rings.So we all got into 5 groups and made up our dance.But we had to include cannon which means follow one after an other.It was really fun !!!!!!!!

Last week Mrs brankin came into class6 and talked about managing money because she works in a bank at bishop castle.Mrs staples gave some money [£40 pound]for some new handwriting pens,cartridges,fountain pens,rulers,rubbers.

On the 6th of May Mrs Kavanagh came in to do a greek museam. She brought in artefacts and replicas of objects that could of been used in Ancient Greece and we had to detect what they were. We weren’t aloud to touch them and they had a plastic cover on them because they might get damaged. She brought in artefacts like arrow spears, plates,bowls and jugs. She told us how the Ancient Greeks used to party.We had three boys and three girls and we acted out what they did.The girls were servants and the boys were rich guests. We also played a game with Mrs Kavanagh where you had the Athens side and a Sparta side and they were going to war and we had to act out a sort of play.They had men,slaves,women and children. We went outside and pretended to have a battle because the Athens and Spartas had lots of fights.

On 6 th of may a museam came to our school (st lawrence church stretton).It was really itresting and fun!Mrs Kavanagh came and tought us what object’s were used in Greek time’s.These are some of the object’s:A jug , you used the jug with wine in it or water and was past around after the first person was finshed because it was a verry big jug and they couldn’t just waste the water our wine.And there was part of a jug found under the sea, we new it was found under the sea because it had banicals on it.There jewlrey was verry nice the poor people that lived in greace wore a madalian, and the rich people wore a beaded braclet (or necklace we dont no) and a verry posh broch which rich people only wore.There was a really fun game that we had to play there was a bucket of sand and brocken potery that you had to find in there and you had to build a plate because the pottery was all smashed  and draw the missing peice when you had put the plate together.There was some arrow tips 3 of them all different shapes .There was half of a decorated plate which had a curved outline on the rim.We also leant about Athens and Sparta , Athens got educated lots but the down side was they didn’t win a lot of wars, were as sparta the did not get educated but they won most wars.When they were fighting we leant there moves and they had  costumes to put on that some people put on.
